Welcome to my AFFIP blog...dedicated to A Few, Fun and Interesting People. This is not so much a blog, but a dumping ground for pictures to keep my other blogs people free. It's not that i don't like people, but i feel too many pictures and stories about people you've never met before can get a little confusing and boring. That said, the people i've met over the past 5 months have made it the best 5 months of my life...and so i dedicate this blog (er...this posting) to them!

Many of you reading this blog have most likely also read parts of my adventure blog. You've seen the pictures, read the stories and maybe even posted some comments. Although i mentioned some people indirectly once in a while ("me and a japanese guy"), you may not realize that many of the sights, activities were experienced with other travelers/locals.

When backpacking, depending on how out-going you are, how many languages you speak and how popular locations you visit, you meet 2-10 new people everyday. Multiply even the lowest number by the number of days i spent in europe and you get 300 people. Keep in mind that most of these people you may only know for a brief moment...a chat waiting for the internet computer at the hostel, a shot of vodka together at a bar or an exchange of photos in front of a tourist site. Another sad realization i made during this trip is that i dont find many people interesting. That is, after that first brief conversation, or that shot, or the photo, i chose to go on my way instead of spending more time with the other person...im sure it goes both ways a well. But every once in a while you meet someone that you decide to spend more time with. Maybe you visit the city together, or maybe you spend a few days traveling together. In the end, emails and goodbyes are exchanged and you move on. Out of hundreds upon hundreds of people, there are only a handful of connections that are worth hanging onto... a few, fun, interesting people.

Note: a bunch of these people have blogs that are linked off of my main adventure blog page.

Me, Igor and Iban. Ive known igor for a number of years, and Iban is one of his good friends in paris. We all hung out before, during and after the wedding. Iban's a cool dude, working the high-tech field in paris...this is my final night in europe partying it up with the boys at "The Beaver" canadian pub.

Anna and I. This is us having some wine from the worlds fanciest wine glasses in Gdansk. Favorite memory, watching the sunrise over the baltic.

Uwee (pronounced like the slang for U-turn), Edd and I. Only got a few sentences out of Uwee...he's from japan...from what i gather he plans on seeing almost every city in europe in one month. Edd (from Oxford England) and i hung out in Ljubljana together on a number of occasions. Really cool bloke, who loves slovenia (and slovenian women).

Some old snorkeling dude, Ryan (Calgary, Canada) and I. I think our presence has put Korcula on the map. Im looking forward reading about his time in turkey.

Some american dude, my favorite girls from sweden and I in prague. Unfortunately, we all barely had 2 nights together (both of which almost everyone was a little sick). I hate when that happens, finally meet some really amazing people and they're on their way back home. Anyway, Ida (girl on the far right) is heading off on an Asian adventure soon.

Me and Chris "Crocodile" (England). We put Budapest on the map. Chris, an oil platform worker, has recently decided to follow my lead by quitting his job and traveling south america. Nice.

My cousin, Zbyszek, my sis and I partying in Krakow.

Cousin Malgosia and my sis. Gosia took us all around warsaw...from little tea shops to university libraries.

Leticia (Arizona, USA) and I chillin by lake Lucern. Last i heard, she's running a marathon in Phoenix.

Too many people to name. This is our crew in Krakow...we're about to start our boat race.

Clinton (Texas, USA), crazy chick and I. Clinton was my hiking partner in Interlaken. He spent the summer as a bicycle tour guide in paris...sweet job.

Me and Andrea (switzerland). This is us catching up on old times...she's a great host and the owner of the most organized apartment in the world (it helps that she's swiss)!

Josh (Florida, USA), two random gals and I. We're celebrating josh's first hike...first mountain, and first look at snow.

Lauren (NYC) & Laura (Boston). Met them at a museum in spain...Picnicked in the parks, partied at night...we liked each other so much that we traveled to toledo together. Best memory was relaxing by the river in Toledo.

Adrian (Mexico) and I. We really put prague on the map. Really funny guy, taught me lots of great mexican sayings. For instance "Lots of meat, but i have no teeth".

Random guy, Janice (toronto, Canada...5 minutes from my house), me, random guy. Didnt know Janice for very long, but she was a really cool chick. Worked her way up at a golf course, now in law school...she's gonna be a somebody someday. Half polish, half irish...all canadian. This is us on a day trip to monaco from nice.

Elodie and Igor. Ive written enough about these two love birds. This is a shot i got when i jumped into the wedding "get away" car.

French people on the side, me and Matteo (Milan, Italy). Matteo and i hung out in Valencia (or was it malaga???)...he just got his PHD and is now off on a way-cool vacation...he's doing the pacific rim from alaska to mexico.

Claire (Germany). Claire was nice enough to give me a tour of Valencia.

Witold and Perrine (Paris, France). Introduced me to french cheese and gave a fine apartment to stay in Paris.

Kasia (Krakow, Poland) also known as "Flower Power" and I. Nice gal that somehow got caught up with us crazy canadians/americans. Notice the straw in the beer...all polish girls drink their beer this way.

Marjolein (Amsterdam), my favorite coffeeshop bartender. Recently picked up a cute accent while working in the Jura region of the french alps.

Mukkul (Seattle, USA) and I. We go way back to seattle days...fun meeting up with old friends.

Hagi (Tokyo, Japan). Cool dude doing a RTW trip for 4 months...i caught up with him for a while in morocco.

Damn i cant remember his name...but a cool dude from Mallorka, Spain. Gave me a great intro to amsterdam.

Unfortunately, there are many awesome people i haven't mentioned cause i never got a picture with them. C'est la vie :(
